Every day millions of children, adolescents, and adults are subjected to serious emotional distress and disempowerment caused by various forms of bullying. I was one of them. As an artist I have dedicated this blog to show the world the symbiosis between the monsters that bully and the monsters created by the bullies (PTSD, Suicide, Depression, etc.). Every moment of the day that I suffer emotional distress that in some way can be linked to past traumas I will create an image in order to document the manifestation. Not all will be directly related to bullying as there are a myriad of factors that contribute to the disappearance of childhood; however, there are some slight correlations that must be observed. Some images may very well be disturbing or painful, true to their nature. Some will be small sketches done on a quick whim, others will be finished pieces. This is a personal purging/healing process as well as a direct means to expanding public awareness on the bullying epidemic. I hope to one day physically exhibit this project for the world to experience.

The locker is a quintessential symbol of the American school system. Lockers are one of those few subtle objects that permeate our memories with associations of our past. They contain things. They hold our memories, even identities. For some these identities are false and are merely hidden defense mechanisms against the outside world. These identities, for some, meant the difference between simply using a locker as a daily convenience or being slammed against one.

The pressure cooker analogy is quite pertinent to the subject of abused young people. They are often under much pressure with no outlet, waiting to explode. Their outbursts may seem inappropriate, however, only few realize that their outbursts are the culmination of many adversities and not just the apparent trigger of the outburst. This kind of process affects many human beings that are eventually integrated into the mental health system due to their misunderstood “issues”.
